My guest this episode is actor William B. Davis, who was a regular on The X-Files for nine years playing the secretive Cigarette Smoking Man. He will make his return this January on FOX when The X-Files comes back for a six-episode miniseries. We discussed his character surviving into the revival, how the actual act of smoking informs the character, treating alien ‘true believers’ with rational skepticism, the perception of atheism and the skeptic community, Climate Change and the danger of mixing climate denial with politics, forming the William Davis Acting School in Canada and what the Canadian acting scene is like, his views on death and mortality, the nature of open political conspiracies, and more!
Also, there's a new theme song/bed music this week courtesy of DJ UDACHI who you can check out over at www.soundcloud.com/udachi
This episode I was privileged to have a conversation with critically-acclaimed Musician/DJ/Producer 'Daedelus.' We discussed a large breadth of topics including his use of the monome, musicians as brands in 2015, the loudness wars, remix culture and sampling, music as synesthesia, the calculations behind songs used in advertising, Dublab and the LA Beat scene, being remixed by Madlib and MF Doom, doing the score for the popular Indie game Nidhogg, working on the Old Spice “Muscle Music” commercials, and more.
